Chinese Students at Comenius Campus

The ’Wine Culture and Wine Gastronomy’ summer university of Eszterházy Károly University is being held between 1-19 of August. The Chinese Beijing Union University has repeatedly sent students to the programme this year.
9 students and their tutor visited Sárospatak with the guidance of Dr. Lajos Gál, director of the EKE Wine Culture Centre. The visitors viewed the Comenius Campus, the Hotel Furmint (internship hotel of EKE), and the sights of the Cultural Centre designed by Imre Makovecz, and the castle of Rákóczi. In the afternoon of the one-day-long programme the participants were introduced to some significant features of the Tokaj-Hegyalja Wine and Cultural Region and also enjoyed a cellar visit.
The main aim of the summer university is to make these kind young people become mediators and pioneers of the Hungarian wine culture later in China.
